Visit iconic wildlife hotspots including the famous Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre and Borneon Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Take an overnight trip to the stunning Selingan “Turtle” Island where you will bear witness mother turtles coming to shore to lay their eggs. You will complete your wildlife adventure by spending 2 nights in our jungle lodge along the Kinabatangan River. Here search for wild orangutans and pygmy elephants with multiple included wildlife river cruises. Cruise along the river at dawn and dusk and experience the pure essence of Borneo. In additional to orang utans, your experienced guide will look for many other types of monkey, exotic birds, crocs and more! DAY 6: Fisherman Village & Firefly Evening River Cruise – $145pp
Late afternoon 4:15pm we transfer from the hotel to the a local fisherman’s village. Meet the villagers and sample some local snacks and sugary tea while chatting with the locals and playing games with the kids. At dark, take a river cruise through the mangroves and wait for the thousands of fire flies to light up the trees around us. End with a local dinner then transfer back to hotel for your overnight stay. (Evening – Includes Dinner)
DAY 7: Sandakan City Tour & Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary – $200pp
Pick up at hotel at 10am. Begin tour with a visit to Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, before heading to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary for the 11:30am feeding. Head back in to Sandakan Town and the tour will continue with visits to the Central Market and Agnes Keith Museum. Stop for a delicious lunch at the English Tea House, then after lunch, visit to St. Michael’s Church, Liberation Monument and head back to the Hotel around 4pm. (Full Day – Includes Lunch)
