Day 2: Arrive Cairo, Egypt

Welcome to Egypt. On arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by a representative who will assist you through airport formalities.

You will then be transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. After checking in, the remainder of the day is yours to relax and settle in before your Egyptian adventure begins.

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel and travel across Cairo to the famous Giza Plateau.

Full Day Alexandria Tour

Travel from Cairo to Alexandria by road, with the journey taking approximately two and a half hours. On arrival, explore Egypt’s famous Mediterranean city, known for its coastal setting, Greco-Roman history and links to the ancient Library of Alexandria.

Visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, one of Alexandria’s most fascinating ancient sites. Then continue to Pompey’s Pillar, an impressive red Aswan granite column built in honour of Emperor Diocletian.

Later, enjoy a photo stop from outside Qaitbay Fort. This 15th century fortress sits near the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

HOW DIFFICULT IS THE WALKING?

The tour includes regular sightseeing at archaeological sites, temples and tombs. Guests should be comfortable walking over uneven surfaces, steps and historic sites. Some sightseeing locations may involve extended periods on foot.

 

ARE ALL ENTRANCE FEES INCLUDED?

Entrance fees for sightseeing are included only where specifically stated in the itinerary. Entrance fees to the interior of the Pyramids, tombs and other restricted sites are not included unless otherwise specified and must be paid locally if you choose to visit. Please note that guides are not permitted inside the Pyramids or tombs, so these visits are undertaken independently.

 

IS LAUNDRY AVAILABLE?

Laundry is not included in the tour package. Availability and pricing of laundry services at individual hotels or aboard the Nile cruise have not been specified and should be confirmed locally.

 

ARE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS AVAILABLE?

Specific dietary arrangements have not been advised by the local operator. Please notify the MyHoliday2 team of any dietary requirements at the time of booking so they can be requested with the supplier. Special dietary requests remain subject to local availability.

 

WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED?

Breakfast is included on most mornings, with selected dinners during the land touring section. During the four-night Nile cruise, meals are provided on a full-board basis. Please refer to each day of the itinerary for the exact meals included.

 

ARE TIPS AND GRATUITIES INCLUDED?

No. Tips and gratuities are not included and are payable locally. The local operator recommends approximately USD $3–$5 per person per day for drivers and USD $5–$10 per person per day for guides.

 

DO I NEED A VISA FOR EGYPT?

Egyptian visa costs are not included in the tour package. It is each traveller’s responsibility to ensure they meet all applicable passport, visa and entry requirements before departure. CAN THE ITINERARY CHANGE?

Yes. The itinerary may be adjusted due to navigational conditions, operational requirements or circumstances beyond the operator’s control. Government-imposed increases affecting services or transportation may also result in changes to the package cost.

The flight portion of the package is non-refundable. The 7 Day Money Back Guarantee does NOT apply.

MyHoliday2 is not notified of any flight schedule changes. Any changes will be directly communicated to the passenger by the airline.

MyHoliday2 recommends reconfirming flight schedules 24 hours prior to departure directly with the airline. MyHoliday2 is not responsible for missed flights.

Name changes are not permitted. All flight tickets are subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.

Flight extensions must be arranged prior to ticketing. Refer to Options and Upgrades for more information.

Flight upgrades can be requested once airline schedules are released. Fare differences will be invoiced to the customer prior to ticketing.

Layover times are subject to airline schedules and may exceed 7 hours.

E-tickets will be uploaded to online accounts, and notification will be sent via email.

Seat selection, Frequent Flyer, and meal requests can be made directly by the passenger on the airline’s website. Fees may apply.

The package is valid for one person based on twin share.

All bookings are subject to availability at the time of reservation. MyHoliday2 does not guarantee availability until confirmation is received from the supplier.

The confirmation email issued by MyHoliday2 upon receipt of payment serves as acknowledgement that your booking request has been received. It does not constitute confirmation of departure or services from the travel supplier. Final confirmation is subject to supplier approval and availability.

 

SINGLE TRAVELLERS:

For solo travellers, a mandatory single supplement applies.

Accommodation for single customers on a tour or cruise package may be in a single room, subject to availability.

 

GROUP SIZE:

Minimum of 2 people

Maximum 10 people

If minimum numbers are not met, you will be requested to change to a different date.

Some tours can be guaranteed with fewer participants; however, surcharges will apply.

If you are unable to change dates, a credit or refund will be offered in accordance with MyHoliday2’s Refund Policy.

 

CHILDREN POLICY:

Children under the age of 2 travel free of charge in existing bedding

Children aged 2-10 receive a child discount.

Children aged 11+ are classified as adults.

Child discounts are only applicable if travelling with two full paying adults.

Maximum room capacity is 2 adults and 2 children (1 in existing bedding, 1 in extra bed)

Children policy is applicable to land only portion and are also subject to airline charges and taxes.

 

AMENDMENTS:

Any amendments are subject to the supplier’s terms and conditions.

Any changes will incur a $100 per person amendment fee PLUS any additional fees applied by the supplier.

All changes must be requested in writing.

No changes can be made within 90 days of departure. The standard cancellation policy will apply.

If unable to select new dates, a credit valid for 12 months may be offered.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellations are subject to MyHoliday2’s Terms and Conditions.

Refunds and credits will be offered in accordance with MyHoliday2’s Refund Policy.

 

PAYMENT PLANS:

MyHoliday2 offers a variety of payment plans based on your tour departure date. Refer to our Terms and Conditions for details.

All payment plans incur a 2% surcharge, paid with the deposit.

If the wrong plan is selected, a $25 fee will be charged to manually amend all invoices.

 

TOURS, DRIVERS & GUIDES:

Day tours included may involve joining larger groups.

Drivers do not provide information on tours.

Drivers may assist in organizing expert guides at certain locations.
